Hi Rita

The child of birth in the first act is Gaetano Sapienza son of Giuseppe and mother Grazia Stra? - you may want to add this link on the previous page where you have the two marriages listed and the children for each marriage. Nice find!
The child of birth in the second act is Vito Sapienza son of Mauro and mother Maria Longa ? - this one isn't a child of Giuseppe and Lucia.

Maybe Livio and/or Luca can confim and give you a full translation on the first birth act.

Gaetano Sapienza born on February 23 1869, son of Grazia Siramondo (26) and Giuseppe Sapienza (36) farmer.
Notation on the right: he married on March 10 1900
[The same day was born my grandfather, by the way] with Angela Liticio(?) daugther of Salvatore

Francesca Sapienza born April 6 1884, daughter of Michelangelo Sapienza (26) and Rosa xxx. There is no reason for a Shocked : he is simply another Michelangelo.

Rita the date of birth for Vito is February 18 1878

Luca or Livio you may want to check and make sure I'm correct.

The birth date is 17. 18 is the date of the act. The surname of Lucia (wife of Giuseppe Sapienza) is almost illegible but isn't neither Distefano nor Proietto Shocked

Sorry, but I didn't understand the meaning of your question (guilt of my bed English). What's the problem with Vito? I understood that your g-g-gfather was Giuseppe? Isn't it?

Luca and Rita -

Luca - Rita is telling you that the 1878 document for Vito Sapienza son of Giuseppe she's believes is correct because the note on the right side under his name lists Rosaria D'Urso as wife (she says he married a woman named Rosaria)

Rita - Luca is telling you that the 1878 document for Vito Sapienza son of Giuseppe is not correct because the mother is not Lucia Proietto or DiStefano. If you look at the document you will see her last name is different so this is a different Giuseppe Sapienza.

Also - There is already an 1866 document for Vito Sapienza son of Giuseppe and Giuseppe's first wife.

1910 Manifest for Vito Sapienza (born about 1880) joining brother Alfio and sisters Maria and Rosa

So it looks like there is a Vito Sapienza born to Giuseppe and Giuseppe's first wife in 1866 and another son named Vito born to Giuseppe and second wife (Lucia Proietto/DiStefano) or to a third mystery woman???

Would anyone like to speculate on what is going on?

No, I don't think she is another woman. I only was surprised that the Officier called her with a third surname! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I have posted some Civil Registrations highlighted in Maroon. I think I found out about my question of Pasquale Serafica and Rosa Sapienza. Smile He was married to Grazia Sapienza so Rosa is his sister in law. Please help me out by translating dates and the names of others. Thank you.

I think I found a Domenica child of Alfio Sapienza and Maria Mio.
