ZAGARE surname

I just came across a new name in my research: ZAGARE. What is the history on this name? It's the first time I have ever seen this name in any line of research. Has anyone else ever seen this one before?

Yes, I have seen that map, which is interesting regarding how infrequent it is. I wonder what the history of the name is. Is this an Italian name in origin or does it source from someplace else?

Una possibile derivazione potrebbe derivare dal fatto che Zago in dialetto veneto è il nome con il quale viene chiamato un Chierico, cioè uno che sta per diventare prete e a volte zaghi sono anche detti i chierichetti.

Does that mean that this name is Arabic in origin if the prefix comes from an Arabic word ("zahr")?
