Elizabeth, when you have a pdf open it in Adobe and 'save as' then select jpeg as the file type. it will save into jpeg images and it will usually split them for you if there are multiple documents within the pdf.

It's difficult to say, we have just a name, no other reference.

Salvatore born Dec 24 1891 son of Giuseppe (54y) living in the quarter named "Collegiata" n. 88 and Lucia Distefano [N.B. They live in the same place so they are same persons also if Lucia is called sometime Proietto and sometime Di Stefano; moreover Giuseppe married Lucia Proietto in 1875. Lucia is conclusively always the same wife Shocked )
On the side: he married on January 22 1916 with De Luca Agata in Belpasso This act has been already translated at page 4 of this topic !

Rosa born Apr 10 1887 daughter of Giuseppe and Lucia Distefano
The statement of Rosa's born was made by the midwife because Giuseppe was out of Belpasso (it's not said where or why).

From page 4

Luca wrote:
Agata Sapienza – Civil birth act
Date registered – 1890 – 23 – April
Comune – Belpasso
Person registering the birth - Lucia Distefano
Age - 66 Occupation - midwife OK
Living in – Belpasso
Actual day of birth – 1890 - 22 – April
Mother – Lucia Distefano wife of Giuseppe Sapienza (farmer) living in said commune
Babies name – Agata. Per Livio: Ci deve essere stato un qualche errore da parte dell'ufficiale di Stato Civile, perché è impossibile che Lucia di Stefano (oltretutto di 66 anni) sia contemporaneamente levatrice e madre della bambina. Non pensi?

Grazie Luca!
Penso che sia un caso di omonimia... Oltre a tutto a 66 anni non penso possa aver partorito.

For those who do not understand Italian:
Luca was pointing out that the midwife has the same name as the mother. I believe it is a case of homonymy, they just happened to have the same name...

Ciao

A me sembra strano un errore dello stato civile! Potrebbero esserci due levatrici, Carmela e Lucia.

I don't mean to repeat information but I was told that the Civil/State Registration has more information about the parents ages, etc.
