Juts to advise you all, that if you decide to send stamped addressed envelopes to Italy for a reply from anyone - the weight of the letter
PLUS the size of envelope determines the postage cost.
I had no idea that this was the case until this morning. I had to send some Italian stamps to a member who had ordered them. Now I usually send them, with just a letterhead enclosed, in a long thin envelope like the one in front here (without the window)
But this morning I had run out, so I addressed the next size - like the one seen here at the back. Bought the stamps, popped them in and sealed the envelope. I handed it to the clerk and she said that was another €0.85c - (that is 'double'....) I asked why as the letter did
NOT exceed the 20g allowed for post to te USA? 'Ah' she said..... 'but it
does exceed the size for €0.85c!!!!!'
Honest I don't believe it - but folks...."That is Italy!" Don't get caught if you're sending stamps - just send two (x€0.85c) -
let them decide on the envelope....
