A local journalist, Justin Catanoso has written a book, My Cousin The Saint detailing his quest to learn more about this relative who had recently been elevated to sainthood.

That is really fascinating, Tom! Cathy has someone in her family who was beatified, right? Maybe Cathy has a story in her too!

That is fascinating. And Poipu is correct - sort of. My grandfather's cousin Blessed Elena Aiello was beatified as a "blessed" in the early 1990's by Pope John Paul II. She is not a full fledged saint yet. I have had several emails about her but like Tom's story, most of the information is in Italian and I have had a tough time piecing together the puzzle. It is on my really long list of things to look into. Embarassed
