At the FHC today I dscovered that my G.Grandmother had a brother. I found his birth act and his marriage act.
I just cant make up my mind which date on the certificate is the correct one.
At the top of the document it says
then below it gives different dates

Atto di Matrimonio
Ottocento sesantauno, ventidue Luglio Bastianello Giuseppe figlio di Angelo & Fortuna Maria Sant'Elia age 21 con Sinacola Antonia figlia di Mariano & Capraro Rosa (it didnt give the bride's age)

What I thought was that they were marrried 22 July 1861 but it says he was 21 years old when he married and he was born in April 1831 which ties in with the date !8. 12. 53
Be grateful if anyone can explain this to me- Right now I'm beginning to feel I need a lesson in maths!!

Emmy
ps some of the spelling will be way out I was a bit difficult trying to make out some of the words.

Looking at what it says Emmy, the first dates seem to be in 1953 and refer to an Registration Act of 5th May 1946.
I've highlighted in colour the other date(s)

Hope this helps....

But it clearly states his age as 21 at the time of the marriage!

Many Thanks Carole
I've been thinking (smell the smoke Wink )
Maybe I should check again and see if I have made a mistake copying the words down if its 1953 then the other dates with 53 will probably be 1953 as well and not 1853 as I thought.
I think I'll need to try to take a photograph of the document to study it at home
If it does say milleottocento that would be 1853
Do you think its more likely to be the correct information that has the heading 'Atto di Matrimonio' where it gives the date as 1861?

I had a similar problem with the birth acts. when the son was born in 1831 his parents ages were Father- ventotto(28) mother- ventnova (29) but when the daughter was born in 1834 Father's age was quaranta (40) and mother's age quarantauna 41? Wonder if its meant to be 30 and 31?

Thanks again Carole
(Wont be long now till you see Debra Very Happy )
