In the year 1857 Jan 12
Antonia Maria Fortuna age 48 profession midwife daughter of deceased Nicola Fortuna living in Sangermano presented a male child was born of Donata Colello age 26 and Cosmo Caputo age 22 profession cotton spinner
gave the male baby the name of Cosmo

I believe the surname is Capaldo, not Caputo. The birth occurred on the eleventh of January.
The left annotation, dated July 26 1889, is partially cut-off but still you can read that on ?? ?? 1889 Cosmo Capaldo married in Cassino Nicoletta (the surname is cu off)

I have seen a record of a Sebastiano Capaldo who was married to a Donata Coletta in the same era, and was wondering if it was the same mother? Do you think they accidentally put the same name for the father (cosmo) as his birth might have been out of wedlock, and Sebastiano was down as the father in 1859?

The mother of Cosmo is Donata Colella (double "l").
In the past often the child had the same name of the father; Today this is not allowed anymore.

It was a Birth record for a girl, between Sebastiano and Donata.
