I am now searching for the parents of my great grandfather Guiseppe Gallerani who was born 19 August 1859 in Cento, Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy and died 11 November 1912. I have a copy of the death certificate that shows his parents as being Leonardo Galernoni and Caterine Gili. I have no birth or death dates. I believe they lived in Cento, Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy because my great grandfather was born in that area.

The civil registry in Italy began in 1871. First you have to search the archives of the church or in the state archive of cultural heritage. At the time this last line store is out of the earthquake.
