This is a really bad birth act but I believe Fortunato's parents are my 4 great grandparents. I know the father is Antonio but I am having ALOT of trouble with the mother's name (when you see the birth act you will see why).

Can anyone offer opinion's please?

Thanks Jim..

Catarina Longo is correct...but I also am looking for the names of Rachela's grandparents.

I see Fortunato Andriano, son of Antonio and ??????

That's the name I need..the wife. Concetta or Catarina L ....ia?

Delete all.
Caterina Longo is Antonia's mother; Fortunato's parents are Antonio and Lucretia (Lucrezia) Cottone (probability at 70/80%).

I love that song. Thanks. I plan on playing it on my 25th wedding anniversary party in a few years (you know, the BIG party the kids are gonna pay for.... Rolling Eyes )

I have it in my ancestry directly from Carini.

Caterina Girolama COTTONE Born 11 Sep 1711 Carini (PA) daughter of Stefano Cottone and Francesca di Cristofalo.

I can trace Caterina back to her Great-Grandfather Michele Cottone, who was born about 1600.

But as you might guess, the surname is dispersed all over Sicily, from Provincia Messina right across to Provincia Trapani.

It is likely the Sicilian Cottone went from Calabria TO Sicily. We have heaps of Calabrese immigrants showing up in the 1550-1580 period. Must have been some political reason I guess.

Very Happy
