Not Sure Where To Start

I am of Italian heritage in Australia, my father came to Australia 48 years ago. My nonno recently passed away and I've decided to try and find my heritage, his name was Giosue Verde and his father's name was Antonino Verde and his mothers name was Rosa Maresca (maiden name). My nonna is currently still alive and I also wanted to trace her back, at this stage I only have her maiden name which is Savarese, her first is Maddelena.

If anyone could help me out by directing me into the right path it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Jason.......Can Maddelena offer any info as to where the family originated from in Italy?? Her input would be valuable to your research and would make it much easier.

Have you tried the Australia Archive Website? This is an example of what I found. You can order the records from there and it may give you an idea of where your family came from in Italy.

Hi Charlie, both my nonno and nonna were both born in Siano, Sorrento Naples

Hi Nuccia, yeah i tried the Australian one but there are no records for them, i found out that they are both born in Siano. My nonno's (Giosue Verde) birthdate is 30/4/26 and my nonna's (Maddelana Savarese - maiden name) birthdate is 2/7/30. It would be great if anyone could help me get started?
