First I must say A Big Thank You to Luca for transcribing and emailing these documents to me so I could post them here. Unfortunately I had difficulty posting the original documents but now I have them in another format hopefully they'll post.

Avanti Noi Avvocato Cavaliere David Segre, Regio Vice Console a questa residenza, Ufficiale dello Stato Civile per delegazione speciale dell’Illustrissimo Signor Agente e Console Generale.
E’ personalmente comparso il Signor Francesco Antonio Federigo del fu Agostino, d’anni 39, nativo di Suflin Grande(???) (Istria) di professione marittimo, ... Austro-Ungarico, il quale ci ha dichiarato esser nato al suo fratello Federico Maria Federigo Bascia, nativo di Venezia, del fu Agostino nativo di Venezia d’an-

ni 50, ... italiano qui domiciliato, ammiraglio, un bambino di sesso femminile e dalla di lui moglie Amalia, nativa di Leicester, d’anni 28, figlia del fu Federico Gonard(?), nato a Rent. Il comparente ci ha dichiarato d’aver assistito al parto che ebbe luogo il 25 corrente mese ed anno alle ore 1 e mezza a.m. nella casa d’abitazione sita in Via Seher il Pascià(???), al nr. 41, secondo piano. Il bambino non ci venne presentato avendolo dispensato dalla presentazione per esserci assicurati mediante testimoni.
Il comparente ha inoltre dichiarato che il padre del neonato intende dargli il nome di Margherita – Irene – Paolina.
La qual dichiarazione venne fatta alla presenza dei Signori Giovanni Stagni del fu Luigi, nativo di Bologna, di anni 45, di professione commerciante, e di Sua Eccellenza Giovanni Muzzi del fu Gaetano, nativo di Bologna, d’anni 48, di professione Direttore Generale delle ... egiziane, ambedue qui domiciliati, testimoni aventi i requisiti tutti voluti dalla legge.
Del che si è fatto constare col presente pubblico atto, steso in doppio originale che previa lettura e conferma venne dal dichiarante, dai signori testimoni e da Noi Vice Console per ultimo sottoscritto.

Dinanzi a Noi Dr. Silvio Carcano Regio Vice Console a questa residenza funzionante da Ufficiale dello Stato Civile per delegazione speciale dell'Illustrissimo Signor Agente e Console Generale. E' personalmente comparso il Signor Federico Maria Federigo Bey* Capitano di Vascello al servizio di Sua Altezza il Vice Re d'Egitto, nativo di Venezia, di anni 46, qui domiciliato il quale ci ha dichiarato essergli nato un bambino di sesso maschile alle ore 9 e mezza** del giorno 29 Novembre 1866 nella di lui moglie Amelia Maria Govart*** del vivente Federico e della vivente Anna Sara, nativa di Leicester (Inghilterra) di anni 24, cittadina italiana seco lui domiciliata nella casa di sua abitazione posta in questa città e precisamente nella strada della passeggiata, casa Zagheb n. 47, secondo piano. Il bambino non venne presentato avendolo noi precedentemente dispensato dalla presentazione essendoci assicurati mediante testimoni.
Egli ha inoltre dichiarato che al bambino intende di dare il nome di Antonio, Agostino, Federico; la quale dichiarazione venne fatta alla presenza dei signori Cioffi Enrico del vivo Vincenzo di anni 30, nativo di Milano, ragioniere impiegato qui domiciliato, e del signor Galli Giuseppe del fu Valente di anni 26 nativo di Chalon sur Saone, commesso qui pure domiciliato, testimoni idonei, cogniti e richiesti, aventi le qualità volute dalla legge, i quali dopo precedente lettura del presente verbale steso in doppio originale contemporaneamente essi tutti si sono con Noi Ufficiale dello Stato Civile per ultimo sottoscritti.

The year 1871(?), January 26, in the Royal Chancellery of the Italian Consulate in Alessandria of Egypt. In front of us, lawyer, Cav. Davide Segre, Royal Vice Consul, Vital record officer standing proxy for the General Consul.
Appeared Mr Francesco Antonio Federigo, son of the deceased Agostino, aged 39, born in Suflin Grande(???) (Istria), sailor,... Austrian-Hungaric, who has declared that to his brother Federico Maria Bascia, born in Venice, son of the deceased Agostino born in Vence, aged 50, ... Italian, domiciled here, admiral, and to his wife Amalia, born in Leicester, aged 28, daughter of the deceased Federico Gonard(?), born in Rent, was born a female baby. The declarant also said that he attended the childbirth on the day 25 of this month and year at 1:30am in the house situated in Via Seher il Pascià(???) #41, second floor. The baby was not presented to us with our agreement because we were ensured by witnesses. The declarant also said that he father gives the baby the names of Margherita - Irene - Paolina.
The declaration was made in presence of Mr Giovanno Stagni, son of the late Luigi, bor in Bologna, aged 45, dealer, and His Excellency Giovanni Muzzi son of the late Gaetano, born in Bologna, 48 yars old, General Manager of the Egyptoan ..., both domiciled here and witnessess with all the law requirements.
All of the above was written in this act in two copies that was read, confirmed and undersigned by all te parties.

The baby was not presented to us with our agreement because we were ensured by witnesses. The declarant also said that he father gives the baby the names of Antonio, Agostino, Federico; The declaration was made in presence of Mr Enrico Cioffi, son of Vincenzo aged 30, born in Milano, accountant working and living here and of Mr Giuseppe Galli son of Valente, aged 26 born in Chalon sur Saone, shop assistant also here domiciled, suitable witnesses. All of the above was written in this act in two copies that was read, confirmed and undersigned by all te parties.
