I am looking for my greatgrand father & grandmother's family. His name was Domenico DeMatte. He was born in Tyrol or Vigolo in 1879. His father's name was Antonio I believe.
Her name was Cecelia Magnani. She was born in the same area in 1875. I think her father's name was Leopold.
I know they both had siblings (from a picture), but no one is alive that would know their names. I would like to find their parents & siblings names. Dominic & Cecelia came over in 1903 and settled in southeastern Ohio.
Any help would be appreciated.
Julie

thank you for replying to my message so quickly.
I have the information that you provided. I don't know where to look to find out my great great grandparents names.
Any chance you know where to do that?

Since the ship manifest states last residence as Vigolo, you can write to the town and request a copy of his birth act. If he was born there, they will be able to help.

Here's the address:

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Comune di Vigolo Vattaro
Piazza del Popolo, 9
38049 Vigolo Vattaro (TN)
ITALY

And a link to an interactive form letter generator:
www.circolocalabrese.o...civile.asp

Church records are available on microfilm
These can be ordered through and viewed at a local Family History Center for about $6 each.

Julie,

Annita Zalenski has the Vigolo Vattaro films on permanent loan and is willing to do lookups. You can find the details on the link below.

Hello,
Vigolo Vattaro is located on Trento area, where I live.
Vigolo Vattaro civil record office (Ufficio di Stato Civile) provides for you only records after 1924. There are not civil records before 1924, only church records, they can be found at FHL library or to Trento Diocesis Archive, that I attend once in a while
I hope it helps
bye Riccardo
