Ciao John
Michelangelo

Hope this is of use...

Hi John,
I’m sorry that I’ve tried to write to you using translation software that it seems to me doesn’t work too well.

What I intended to say is:

1. The only La Barbera's that I know live in Trabia, one is my son-in-law, husband of my daughter and he is called Michele La Barbera, the father was called Nicolino, I hope you will find this information useful.

2. I too am looking for my family and the brother of my grandfather, who emigrated to America but I don’t know to which state.
If I’m not mistaken he was called Giovanni Pecorella and he came from Boccadifalco that is a part of Monreale in Palermo.

I would be so pleased if you could eventually let me have contacts and news about these.
I remain ready to help you in any way I can in your research.

With affection,
Michelangelo

This is the only manifest for Giovanni Pecorella from Boccadifalco. Going to his brother-in-law's Giuseppe Bruno at N 343 ? street NY (can't read the street name). Giovanni's father was Mariano Pecorella.

Page 2

Maybe you can find out if this is his grandfathers brother based on Giovanni's dads name etc.

Hope this helps and let us know if this turns out to be the correct manifest.

Edit..............added town name.

Thanks everyone! Can someone please give me an Italian response to my new friend in Bagheria? Maybe we can steer him toward a forum where he can post his questions and someone who speaks Italian can help him? Thanks!

Hi John

Our expert translators live in Italy and right now it's about 3am there. I think the best thing is for you to post in English what you would like to say and have it translated here. You will also want to let them know that the manifest for the Giovanni they are looking for is posted here and have them look at it and have them join the Gente forum. www.gentedimaregenealogy.com They can speak italian and our translators will take care of putting it in english so everyone on the forum can help in the search. Very Happy

Welcome, John. I am glad that Carole was able to give you a cleaner translation than my attempt on italiangenealogy.com. I always can help in a pinch get the general idea of things, but Carole, Livio, etc...are the real experts. Wink

Thanks everyone....is there a forum that is in Italian they non English speaking Italians can join and post to?

So I would like to say to my Bagherian friend....

Hello, it would be best for you to go to the forum at _____ which is in Italian and register, then post your family search so volunteers can help you locate the information on your relatives in the USA. If you are able to find any current contact information on your relatives in the USA I would be very glad to help you make contact with them.

Hi John,

I'm a bit late in welcoming you to Gente but its very nice to see you here.

Your friend can post here, in Italian and there are several people who can answer him. Once they register, they can set the board to read in Italian so they can understand the layout in that language.

Tell them to register at..

www.gentedimaregenealogy.com

then wait for an activation link and follow the instructions. I can help him/her with the page options once registered.

Grazie a tutti.
Ciao
Luca
