Hi All, Buon giorno!

My great, great grandfather Loreto Bastianelli immigrated to the united states in 1900 he was born in 1867 the ship he came to the US said place of birth Sant Elia FIumerapido but I also found records from Altina could that be right, I think maybe it is why I am having such a hard time finding an Italian record of him. I have looked at both so where I can I turn?

Grazie
Michelle

Civil records for Sant'ELia from 1866-1944 were all destroyed in WW2. The ones that exist today are those reconstructed by the people left alive after WW2. SO if he was born in 1867 and emigrated in 1900 he would not have been in Sant'ELia to reconstruct his record. It simply doesn't exist anymore.
The parish records did survive (mostly) but must be searched personally.
