Hi,

I think that this is my 5 x Gt Grandfathers' (Pellegrino Mazzei) death record from 1810.

I know my 4 x Gt Grandfather was called Jacopo Mazzei and he was born in approximately 1788.

However, I believe that this record states that Pellegrino was 85 years old in 1810, so in 1788 he would have been 63 years old so he may be too old to be him.

Can anybody translate it and see if it is my 5 x Gt Grandfather?

Thanks,

Darin.

Pellegrino was 85 at his death but it states that he is the son of Domenico not Jacopo. Jacopo is recorded as 22 years old in this document in 1810.

"On Dec 9 1810 a 4:00pm in front of the Civil State Officer of Stazzema appeared Iacopo Mazzei aged 20, son of the deceased and Giovanni Nicola Viviani, aged 47, brother in law of the deceased, and they
declared that Pellegrino Mazzei, son of Domenico, died the same day at 2:00PM, aged 85 "

So you have
6 x Gt Grandfather Domenico Mazzei
5 x Gt Grandfather Pellegrino Mazzei (1725-1810)
4 x Gt Grandfather Iacopo Mazzei born 1788

Hi,

That's brilliant,

Thank you,

Can I just clear up that you have Jacopo's age as 20 - but it looks like it says "ventidue" - would that be 22.

If so then that fits with the births of Jacopo's children as it says on the birth of his son Pellegrino in 1811 he was 23, and on the birth of his son Giovanni in 1813 he was 25.

Thanks again,

Darin.

You're correct Iacopo's age is 22 ventidue.
