ACCIDENTI!!
There isn't what you was looking for!! It only says that Antonio lived in Carlentini at that time. But now you know that he was there in 1885 so you can write to

Ufficio Anagrafe
Via Porta Siracusa, 87
96013 Carlentini (SR)

and ask for a "certificato storico di famiglia" for Antonio Rescigno at the date of 1885. If you are lucky they can have the "scheda anagrafica" of Antonio with all the info you need.

Luca, no accident, I forgot to also add...I now have complete confirmation of the parents and that he is their son and they were living in Carlentini at the time. When the films come in for Lercara Friddi, let's hope I can locate on the films the other older children and especially my grandfather Vincenzo. Will also be looking for Francesco's marriage to Catherine.

Thank you so much. (could use an English translation as well).

lilbees

The film for Carlentini covered 1873-1883.

Sorry. The scan wasn't so clear and i wasn't sure about 1885 or 1875; but i opted for 1885 and i was wrong Embarassed
As you can see, in fact, i wasn't sure about your g.grandfather age because i knew he was born about 1845 and from my translation it appeared to be born in 1855.

Would it do me any good to request a "l ’copia integrale dell'atto di nascita"?

I would like a better copy of his birth record anyway.

In searching the various occupations on Mangeruca.com I found the following in their list of occupations:

Scalpellino - Stonemason

This was his occupation in Tunisia as well.
