I got an email today from a NEW cousin, his name is Frank Lagonigro, Hes related to my great great great grandmother, this is the email he sent me
Dear Steven,
Records indicate that the subject families first settled in Grassano, Italy in 1792. I am Jimmy (Innocenzo) Lagonigros son Frank and I hope to prepare a LAGONIGRO FAMILY TREE. If I do and develop information, I'll keep you posted. I'm sure that we are distant cousins.
Friendly Frank of Sunny Naples.

Hi Steve
I think what this is suggesting is you can order the book through the comune. Maybe one of the forum members in Italy can read the italian page and give an opinion if you can order it or not. Hope this helps

This morning I telephoned the number shown on the link for you (hope you don't mind...). It is actually the number for the society that produced the book, and I spoke to the presidents (?) elderly mother.
She told me that there are still some copies and that TWO books were produced. They cost €6 and €8 each ($9.30 and $12.40). She offered to post them to me, plus cost of shipping, 'cash on delivery'. I explained that I was calling on behalf of a friend in the USA, and I would find out what he wanted to do and contact her again maybe tomorrow morning. She was quite happy to leave it like that.
So it's up to you Steven... I could ask them if they would send them to the USA, but the question of payment might cause a problem - OR I could order them for you, then forward them on. I have a Paypal account so that wouldn't be a problem.

Did she say what the difference was in the 2 books?, How much would total price be for you to get them and send them to me? I am located in Port Jefferson Station, NY USA 11776 I asked my cousin to obtain a copy, He told me that the book wasnt available outside of Grassano. I have paypal also

No - she didn't say what the difference was - apart from the price. And I don't know how much they might weigh! I just thought that I could do you a favour and at least find out if it was still available as it/they were published two years ago!
This might help you with regard to the postal costs and perhaps your friend could weigh his copy so you have an idea on the weight/cost ratio.
