Before I begin my search of my unknown family, I think I've summed it up to this: "Some people have secrets they aren't free to share because of hurtful memories are hard for them to bear & repair so we need to show them how much we care." I may not find much information but it's worth a try.
So far I have and found:
Husband: Cooper Levy (Kopel) born on Dec. 4,1882 from Craiova,Roumania. Death: in 1950 (Parkinsons Disease) I have 1910 census ~ Kopel age 26, Anna age 23,Harry age 12 brooklyn NY, WW1 Registration card, 1930 census~ Cooper age 45,Anna age 41, Harry age 20,William age 18,Adolph age 15,Sylvia age 10, and WW2 Registration card, with 2 addresses on it.
From the census their language from what I can see is Yeddish~ Hebrew with Germanic language? They were Naturalized 1900- 1901. I will be sending out for their marriage document soon.Maybe it will have their parents names on it? Married January 16,1909 in Manhattan,NY.
children: Harry, William, Adolph,Sylvia.
Wife: Anna Germain (German) ~ Bulgaria
I can not find the 1920 census, and not sure how hard it will be to find them when they came over.
