Interesting 1 July 1923 Manifest, see line 2

Quote::
1920 Census for Michele Bocchicchio and Family
New Castle Delaware
Michele Bocchicchio, head, age 31, immigration year 1914, Italy
Jennie, wife, age 17, Italy
Louis, son, age 0 (new born), Pennsylvania
Likely just married?
1920 Census1920

Have you noticed the cousin that is living with this family in the 1920 Census? Does the last name sound familiar at all?

I wouldn't be surprised if Michele re married..it was often done. My own Great Uncle did the same thing and when his wife and son "surprised" him by arriving in America the truth came out.

I have heard several stories like this too. A cousin of my grandmother's cousin did this too. Not nice but it happened.

Hmmm. I checked the 1930 census again. It showed Michele's age at first marriage to be 20. or about 1908, six years before his stated immigration date on both the 1920 and 1930 censuses. Wife Jennie on the 1920 census is 17 so there's no way he married a five year old.
Also on the 1930 census, Michele states his marital status as Married not Widowed. Could it be that wife Jennie passed away between 1922 (birth of son Carl) and 1930 and Michele stated he was married because he still was to Carmela in Italy?

Michele's missing ship manifest would answer a lot of questions.

he could be IANOVALE even if it misses the A.
Ianovale is a last name of Buonalbergo.
But is this Jeanie the new wife?
But in the united states they regularly got married him or did they live without being gotten married together?
To thing it corresponds 1914 in the line corresponding to Michael Bocchicchio?
Have checked in the lists of Ellis and there is not any Ianovales! Surprised

Molti immigranti hanna risposato o in chiesa o in cerimonia civile.

If this is the correct Michelangelo, Jennie is the new wife. 1914 is the year of Michele's immigration, not the year of marriage. Many immigrants remarried in either church or a civil ceremony.

Perche' Carmela prendeva la pensione di Michele, Michele ha nominato la il beneficiario.

Il Michele in Philadelphia chi noi parliamo non poteva essere il sposato di Carmela ma qualcun altro.

Because Carmela received Michele's pension, Michele named her beneficiary.

The Michele in Philadelphia whom we are discussing might not be the husband of Carmela but someone else.

You are a genius John!!!
I believe that you have found the person that looked for!!!!
Giovanbattista I don't know who both but to Buonalbergo there are a lot of people that call Caggiano.
I believe that Michael is the husband of Carmela, they arrange a lot of things (his wife's name, the country, the year of birth...)
Is it the same person of whom we spoke you and I yesterday then? wife Jennie and child Louis??
