Think I figured it out. Antonio's death record is from 1843 at the age of 18 and Ermenegildo's death record is from 1814 so this Ermenegildo isn't his father. Maybe Antonio's grandfather?

Thanks Carole but I havent registered with Imageshack. Just wasnt too sure about it?! Perhaps that's why I coulndt download a video clip because I wasnt registered. Need to think about it. Even tried to use the 'add attachment facility here and couldnt get it to work either. Must be having one of those days today!!
Emmy kiss

Hi 'Billie' thanks
I hadnt noticed that it was Giovanni Serra who registered the death looks kinda likely Ermenegildo WAS married twice. Must check all the other films I have at the FHC to see if I can find any other information about this.
Right now I'm like a wee dog with a big bone!

Think you missed this so I'll post it again

I make it out that Antonio was 50yrs old when he died. I'm sure it says cinquanta He couldnt have been 18 when he died because he was 26 yrs old when his daughter was born in 1829

Could that perhaps be the age of someone who was registering the death?

It's Ermenegildo's age I couldnt find registered. Will have another close look but many thanks 'Billie' you're helping to keep my wee grey cells working.

Sorry 'Billie
I see now what you mean I had read the date wrong on Ermenegildo's death record I had it down as 1840 (quaranta) instead of what it actually says :quattordici 1814
(honestly I WAS wearing my new spectacles Embarassed )
So what could be the reason for Antonios fathers death record not being included. Im thinking now that mabye Antonio's father and his grandfather shared the same Christian name. But if this is the case then I've now got names for one set of my G.G.G.G.G.Grandparents Just cant believe this is happening. Maybe I should stop now because it is becoming like trying to sort out spaghetti junction.

Hey Em,

You are correct on his age being 50 my mistake. So if his age is 50 puts his birth year around 1793 so it is very possible that the 1814 death record is his father. Would put Antonio's age at 21 in 1814. So more than likely I've made a mistake (gulp). So sorry. Don't give up yet kiddo, I created the "spaghetti junction" by mistake............keep looking for clues. I think you're on the right track.

This one is Antonio's death record at the end it says defunto after his mother's name so it seems both his parents had died before him but considering his mother was 45 when he was born and his dad was 50 that's not surprising.

Hi Emmy,

Have you run across any of your documents with unusual stamps on them?

Elizabeth I did noticed some of the pages on mine had stamps on them too but I thought that was a stamp to prove the copies of the documents were true copies of the original documents. Must have a better look at them next time I'm at the FHC
I'll try to attach a copy of the pages but Imageshack is playing up again tonight

edited to say attachment didnt work sorry!

just like to add when the priest sent me a copy of my grandparents marriage certificate he put a stamp on the copy of the document too
