The father's name looks like Marcantonio to me.

Thanks for you post. I dont know if the symbol just after the title at the top of the death record for Antonio means anything but on Antonio's daughter's death act his name is definately just Antonio but today I found a document with Dominico Antonio Fionda but I still need to check this out to make sure its the same person.

Domenico Antonio is a popular combination of names in this area. It is not unusual to find extra (baptismal) names added in in various other documents. When the index is by first name it can be a nightmare.
If you have the birth films for 1860 on loan could you email me privately at atatangelo @ hotmail.com (no spaces).
I looked for the symbol you mentioned but didn't see anything odd. After the Atto di morte they added his name to make it easier for them to search. I couldn't read the writing at the very top right corner.
The Comune of Sant'Elia covered several parishes in the surrounding villages so be sure to note the parish if you plan to search the parish records later. For the most part they seemed to have survived WW2 bombing.
