i have come across a name identified in two different spellings for the same individual. it seems as though it may be a case of the latin and italian versions?
fiorenza and florentia
thanks.

Fiorenza is the Italian version, while Florentia is the Latin one.

I come across name spelling changes quite often while working on trento baptisms for the FHL. I just had one show up last night, that was always Endrizzi and on some earlier records its endricci. They also seem to add or subtract the double letters. That name has been written without the double z and c.
