These documents don't will help you to estabilish a connection between the two families because they only are "Estratti per riassunto" and they don't contain the parent's names or other important informations.
When you (and everyone else) ask for a document in Italy you must demand for a "copia integrale" (technically the complete name is " estratto per copia integrale"): it's the only way to trace back your roots

P.S.
The Registrars don't love too much the "copie integrali" because they must photocopy old and dusty registers... so, probably, you will need two or three letters to obtain them!!!

I told Ian the same thing so I am now helping him resend for the correct info. Thankfully it does give all the birth act numbers on the above letters so that might make it easier. They are not going to like us much..lol
Thanks Luca. I appreciate the confirmation.

So sorry to butt in on this topic but, I have made this request many times and not gotten the "estratto per copia integrale". Two of the places were written to at least 6 times with no luck. Just received the standard extract with only parents names and the minimum of information. I have felt I was being unreasonable or that the law wouldn't allow the request.

You're not butting in. Honestly, I think its all in the wording of the letter. Whenever I have used the standard online letters I have gotten extracts (like Ian did) regardless of what I asked for. Whenever I have used the letters that Riccardo has written for me I have received the correct documents. I think the comuni are so used to seeing these standard forms that they don't bother to read them.. lol
Because we have the Act numbers now on the replies from Italy, Ian is going to write away to the Fhc in Utah for copies of the Acts that are available on film and to Gerace directly for the one that isn't (one marriage is from 1929 and has not been microfilmed). This hopefully will work.
Not sure if this link works but we're going this route:

Nuccia, do you have copies of any of the Riccardo letters? If so would they be available for me to use?
Thanks,
lilbees

I wish I did but all I really did was sign over a wavier to Riccardo saying that he was acting on my behalf and he handled everything. He wrote the letters, mailed them out and made the follow up phone calls (remember, this is what he does best). Then he mailed me the documents and translations. I never had to do anything. When I did it myself I never got the right documents. I checked my PC and don't seem to have any letters..they may be on my old computer.
Maybe he will stop by and see this and be able to help. Or maybe write out a request in English and see if someone can translate it to Italian.
