I would like to write to the comune of Siena and find out if they hold the civil records for Poderuccio. I used a link that shows each province and comunes within it and then breaks down into hamlets belonging to the town, but Poderuccio isn't listed among those connected with Siena, but I think it is, based on another reference found on the net.
I would like to ask them if they house civil records from perhaps 1850 - 1912.
It will undoubtedly be short, so draft it however you please. It is, of course, for the purpose to request documents if they have them.
Thanks for your help.

I am not aware of any location in Italy named Poderuccio. Where did you find it?

Where have you been all this time? Dont answer "It's not your business!" (although you could). Everything OK?
Per dirla in Italiano: mi stavo chiedendo dove eri finito.

Hey folks, I pulled out an old letter and made it work.. I think it will be ok.. I learned of this recent, unexpected connection to Poderuccio, and I couldn't find it either, and then I saw it near siena. I went to one of the Comuni web sites that breaks down allthe hamlets in each comune and still did not see it, but I thought it had to be in Siena jurisdiction. And then I found reference to it in a similar site. It's about 4.5km from Siena.

Now I'm very confused. My dad and his family's manifest says from Sorano. He always said he was from Pitigliano, so OK close by. My GM, it is said, came from Montevitozzo... OK again, nearby. Then a newly discovered relative spoke with a very old newly discovered relative of both of ours and she said my GF left my GM and the kids in Poderuccio. And years later an Italian man from the US visited her in Poderuccio. So now I am very confused. Where the heck are they from? One step forward.... etc. I wrote to Sorano in February and a few times after that and they say they are too busy with the living. I even had a well-known Tuscany history professor with my surname (related?) call them, and they told him they are too busy with the living. So, Poderuccio it is!
