Oh that is romantic. My parents had the same situation. Dad was already in Canada when he decided to marry my mother so his brother went to her hometown and stood proxy for him. She then came to Canada and married my father in a church ceremony.
On Dec 11 my parents will be celebrating they're 50th Wedding Anniversary, God willing. |
The difference is that your parents were far away one from the other. In the above case the two towns are about 60 miles and the man could not find a few hours hours to go and get married.
Elizabeth, as you can see the laptop is safe and the pack is well-fed and no longer dangerous.

One question though--do we have to bring the husbands?

The 6th one is in Latin. ... I guess it's the priest writing the groom birth act and stating he is single. |

What a beautiful document! Thanks for the explanation Luca.
Ada, my husband is always busy too...but that's ok. As long as they're healthy and happy that's all that important, right?

Luca,
I've been waiting all day for you to show up and help with the Latin ones but you were busy somewhere else, eh?
So at the end I had to rack my brain and try to remember some Latin. I understood most of what was written but didn't dare a translation. For sure you would have laughed till your sides ached if I had written nonsense. I knew you were going to pop up and give your qualified translation at the end
Ciao "beeela gioia".
Nuccia,
yes, as long as they are healthy and happy that's all that's important. And as I care so much, I do suggest him to forget parties, stay home and relax . (Amn't I a real viper?)
Just kidding, as usual.
Ciao to all of you, have a good day.
A.

Ciao "beeela gioia". |
(e adesso chi glielo traduce a Nuccia e a Billie???)
Scherzi a parte (visto che in quel modo no ci parlavo nemmeno 30 anni fa!), non mi sembra tu abbia bisogno di assistenza.
Ciao
