Buoralbago

I have no idea if this belongs here. I just found that my grandfather and his brother immigrated to the US from Buoralbago, Italy....However, I can not find any reference to that commune. I have another friend who has searched and she also has had no luck.

Has anyone ever heard of this commune. Or, is there anywhere that I can search that might have name changes of communes or communes that have been absorbed into another.

Hey Louis,

I'm thinking that the comune you are looking for is actually Buonalbergo which is a comune in the Province of Benevento in Campania.

I'm guessing that your grandfather and his brother were Filippo and Saverio Martone? I found their ship manifests for 1896, and a later 1905 manifest for Filippo which gave the proper spelling. Even if I got the people wrong, I'm guessing that the Comune is correct. Hope that helps!
