Thanks Simy
It was photographs my cousin had sent me by email and it just blocked them all out with a red cross at the top of each blank square and it had 'html' on it. then it said page cannot be read!
I emailed her back and told her what had happened, she told me she had downloaded them from a disc onto which she had transferred the original photographs after scanning them. (she's going to attach/send the photographs in another way)
But many thanks for the offer of help but I dont know how to send it here either
Emmy

You can download a web page ... not as you would download a PDF, however. What you can do to save a page is use the File | Save As function of your browser, Web Page Complete as the type. I generally will not be a perfect save, but should save the majority of the information and images ... they are saved as several files, so if you want to send it to someone, you would do better sending the link to the page.

Emmy,
Did you get the new photos? If you want to you can email me everything (forward what you received) and I can try. Do you still have my email?

Oh yes, I know that you can save it.
But since I had perceived that she meant to save another kind of document (i.e. an image, or .rar, .doc, etc.) I thought that it was not helpful confusing her mind explaining how to save a html document, as I was sure that she didn't need it.

So at least I know its nothing that I've done to the computer
