Perhaps you can help me? My husband's great great grandfather was a man named Alphonso Mazzanti (we think). He would have probably been born in the first quarter of the 1800's but I do not know for sure. His son's death certificate read "Alphonso Mazzonti", but that could be wrong in terms of the spelling. What we have heard (no way to confirm this) is that he was in Giribaldi's army and meet Marie Hanar Larsonneur in France. We do not think they ever wed, but they did have a child David Louis Alphonso Larsonneur (the son mentioned above). Maria was born in 1837, so I am only guessing that Alphonso's birth was not too far from this date. Unfortunately, I do not know anything else. Any chance you can find something based on so little information?
Thank you in advance.

Patty

P.S. I was hoping to find something by Christmas as a present for my mother-in-law, who is the grandaughter of David Larsonneur.

Hi Patty and welcome to our "Gente Family". I'm sure there will be some of our members who will give you a helping hand to find the information you are after.... but by Christmas might be a bit of a tall order (unless you meant
Christmas 2008.... Wink )

But - joking apart - some searches do take a really long time.... my own personal search for my grandmother has taken (in total) about 48 YEARS!

But technology has moved on apace now so things are much easier, and faster. You'll see.

There is no Mazzonti in Italy currently but there are several Mazzanti. Here's a link to the way the surname is distrubuted in Italy currently..
