Giuseppe Accardo
Via Palermo, 13
91020 Salaparuta (TP)
Italy

Ciao,
My name is John La Barbera.
Il mio nome e' John La Barbera.

I live in Houston, Texas USA.
Abito a Houston, Texas STATI UNITI.

My great great grandfather Guiseppe Accardo, was born in Salaparuta and migrated to the USA in 1892.

I am trying to complete my family history and find living realtives in Salaparuta.

I do not know which of the Accardos still living in Salaparuta are related to me.

I am writing to Accardos with the same given name as my great great grandfather.

My great great grandfather Giuseppe Accardo was born about 1848. He was married to Giuseppa Bruno.

Before they migrated to the USA, I believe they had the following children in Salaparuta:

Caterina, born about 1872-1873
Francesco, born about 1873-1878
Calogero, born about 1880
Maria, born about 1882
Antonia, born about 1887
Giuseppa, born about 1892

For some unknown reason, Giuseppe Accardo may also have been known by the name Vittorio Ugo before he migrated to the USA.

If you think you are related I would be very grateful to receive a letter from you.

If we are not related but you know of a living Accardo who may be related please give them this letter.

Voglia gradire i miei sinceri saluti.
Accept my sincere greetings.

John La Barbera

Hope this will help someone one day....

Giuseppe Accardo
Via Palermo, 13
91020 Salaparuta (TP)
Italy

Ciao,
My name is John La Barbera.
Il mio nome é John La Barbera.

I live in Houston, Texas USA.
Abito a Houston, Texas negli Stati Uniti.

My great great grandfather Guiseppe Accardo, was born in Salaparuta and migrated to the USA in 1892.

I am trying to complete my family history and also find living relatives in Salaparuta. I am doing this because I am interested in my heritage and perhaps touring Sicily one day. I think it would be interesting and fun to meet living relatives.

I do not know which of the Accardos still living in Salaparuta are related to me. I am writing to Accardos with the same given name as my great great grandfather.

My great great grandfather Giuseppe Accardo was born about 1848. He was married to Giuseppa Bruno.

Before they migrated to the USA, I believe they gave birth to the following children in Salaparuta:

Prima di migrare agli Stati Uniti, credo che habbiano avuto i seguenti figli a Salaparuta:

Caterina, nata verso 1872-1873
Francesco, nato verso 1873-1878
Calogero, nato verso 1880
Maria, nata verso 1882
Antonia, nata verso 1887
Giuseppa, nata verso 1892

For some unknown reason, Giuseppe Accardo may also have been known by the name Vittorio Ugo before he migrated to the USA.

If you think you are related I would be very grateful to receive a letter or email from you.

If we are not related but you know of a living Accardo who may be related please give them this letter.

Voglia gradire i miei sinceri saluti.

Accept my sincere greetings.

My husband's great-great-grandfather was also this man that was married to Guiseppa Bruno.

Last year we visited Salaparuta and saw the records.

Guiseppa was married to Vittorio Ugo. We saw his birth record -- he was ignorti and I guess named by the church. We also the birth record of my husband's great-grandmother who was born Nunzia Ugo. I believe she is the Maria you refer to. Since her grandmother was Nunzia Roppolo it makes sense that she was named Nunzia not Maria.

We are unclear when, why, or how the name Accardo came to be used.

Carl or Calogero ended up marrying his niece and went by the name Carl DiVittorio. I believe that Guiseppa and Joe may have lived with Carl and Jennie. They lived in Iilinois.

Kate and Antonia known as Lena lived in Texas. Nunzia died in 1918 in the flu epidemic.

Since Vittorio was illegitimate that is why we all keep hitting a dead end. In the Belice Valley pre1968 earthquake you could have walked easily from Gibellina or another town to Salaparuta to drop an infant at the church. It is possible his parents are not from Salaparuta.

Guiseppa's parents were Nunzia Roppolo and Leonardo Bruno. Leonardo's parents were Stefano Bruno and Margharita Canatella.

The name Guiseppa does not exist, the correct spelling is Giuseppa
