My local newspaper just put up all the images 1877-1944

It's so much fun finding these little details about our families!

Saturday February 11, 1928

(My great-grandmother Rose Bianco)

What? No follow up story to tell us where it was?

This is great that all of this is online. I was looking for some old newspapers online to find the death of two little boys, brothers. One fell thru an icy lake and the brother tried to help him and they both died. This was some time between 1910 and 1915. I am sure it made the local papers, but so far, I am not finding anything.

Oh James

Dont worry about your G.Grandmother and what happened on
Saturday February 11, 1928 things like that still happen in 2010!! Embarassed

I just couldnt help laughing even although there was no ending to your G. Grandmother's story.

It's almost identical to what I've done in the past - but so far I havent called the police -
A while ago, before I went on holiday, I gave all my jewellery etc to the family to look after it for me, but this time I forgot some, so I put it in a box and put it in a 'safe place' and I even wrote a note to myself in my diary leaving myself a clue where I had put it so I wouldnt forget where this safe place was .
Yes I bet you have guessed I found the clue I wrote to myself but I didnt give myself enough detailed information where the box was and I still havent found the box. Embarassed Confused Confused Confused

Did it say if your G Grandmother ever found the missing articles??
Emmy

Unfortunately since we never heard that story before now, and as she is long gone to ask (she died in 1988) we will probably never know!

I do know that when she died, her jewelry collection was breathtaking. But from what I understand, my grandfather (her son) had removed most from her home as she suffered from Dementia toward the end of her life.

It had been put into the garage by mistake when we had moved into this house. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Oh Emmy not your wedding dress! Well Mark has found more than one thing that I've put in the refrigerator and the freezer that certainly didn't belong there...lol. Now when I misplace something the first place he tells me to look is in the freezer!

Billie I have put things in the freezer too! My mom has also done it. Is it some weird Calabrese thing or something???????? lol

Emmy I still can't get over the story of your wedding dress. Thats so sad. Of course my husband things we have too much things around here so he has been known to give away my Tupperware and pots and pans..thinks they take up too much space! Meanwhile, he has paint brushes from years ago which he never uses that are allowed to stay! Go figure!

Heheh I have put the coffee pot in the fridge a time or two. What I do the most tho, is sit my glasses on top of my head, then go around the house looking for them. I have done that so much, that now, before I look, I feel my head.

I still feel a bit uspet about my wedding dress but I just have to accept its gone- its taught me a lesson though now I'll label every box before I store it away.
Oh Eleven
We're both alike I keeep all my old glasses because I'm always misplacing them so if I keep them all I'm bound to find a pair eventually and like you 9 out of 10 times they're on top of my head - but I went one better than that the other night I searched and searched for a pair of my glasses that I use for the computer - no luck - until I realised I was wearing them -NO! not on top of my head but where they should have been in front of my eyes Rolling Eyes

The latest problem I'm having is losing my cordless phones. I bought two so I would always have one on the charger so at least I would know where one phone was. (I've been warned always to take one with me when I go out to the garden)That's still not prevented me from losing both of them. What do I do then ?? I use my mobile phone to phone myself so I can run around the house to try to find where the other phones are ringing. Like trying to find a needle in a haystack sometimes. Just wish I could train them to start shouting to me --I'M HERE! I'M HERE!

Isnt it good to find other people as bad as yourself Very Happy Very Happy

Emmy

Haha thats funny. I never had mine on and looked for them..only up on my head. My daughters lose phones all of the time. I wont buy those phones that need power to run, because we lose power a lot, here. I will only use the regular phone, not cordless.
