Hi,

I had paid for research from the florence state archives regarding several birth certificates from towns in Lucca Province.

They have replied to me, and I have used google translate to try and fathom what they are saying, but it isn't that clear to me.

Can anybody translate their reply for me, and let me know what they are wanting from me next?

Thanks,

Darin.

Grazie.
Cordiali saluti
"

Here's the translation
Good morning, I write you on regard to the photocopies that you have paid to the Archivio di Stato.
I already wrote to you in July.
Yesterday I looked again at your request but he photographer has serious difficulties to find the files
(filza).
The files you are interested in should be 415 ( or 1415?), 1452 ,1458, 10331,3444.
Each file includes a dossier and one act with the exception of file 10331, act 76 and file 3444, act 130 where the dossier is missing. The volumes contain several pages.
I would like to know if you ever saw the original of the volumes end if you can give some references (if you don't know the page number) about the contents so that I have references for the new search.
Thanks
Greetings

Frankly speaking I do not understand what he is asking for?
What did you write in your original request?

Hi,

thanks very much for that.

Basically, i found several reference numbers using the LDS microfilm for Births in Tuscany.

I then applied for the certificates from the Archivio di Stato di Firenze, using their research department.

I think that they are telling me that some of the pages are missing for a couple of the certificates, and I am assuming that they think i searched for them myself at the Archives, and are wondering if the files were there at the time.

I didn't visit the archives though.

Thanks for your help,

Darin.

When you wrote to the Archivio di Stato, did you give them the LDS reference numbers or the actual birth dates?

Hi,

I gave them both for some of the certificates (as I had that information) but for other's, I could only give birth years, and the Volume and page numbers.

They came back to me with the quotation, and told me how many pages were in each certificate (some were A3 and some were A4). It seemed like there wasn't a problem at the time.

They have taken 3 months to start (only because I e-mailed them), and now it seems that they can't find all the pages.

Thanks,

Darin.
